The City of Brussels is undertaking a vast project to modernise its administration, in which one of the aspects is the digitisation of its working methods. This involves digitising the physical files that need to be consulted regularly, and avoiding paper generation in the activities of the City.

OBJECTIVES TO BE ACHIEVED:

  • By the end of 2021, 50% of strictly internal processes will no longer require paper.
  • By the end of 2021, 50% of public-related processes will no longer require paper.
  • By the end of 2021, paper consumption will decrease by 60%.

Expected reduction of CO2: 20 t CO2/year

Other impact(s):

  • Environmental: digitising processes will facilitate teleworking, and therefore a reduction in commuting.
